Dementia is an abnormal, serious loss of cognitive ability, often seen in older people as a result of degenerative disease. It can also be the result of CTE or head trauma, getting blown up by an IED, drug abuse, and other causes. Some of the most common forms of dementia are: Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia, semantic dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies.
