Mesopotamia is a name for the area of the Tigris–Euphrates river system, which corresponds to modern-day Iraq, Kuwait, the northeastern section of Syria and to a much lesser extent southeastern Turkey and smaller parts of southwestern Iran. This subreddit is for discussing history and archaeology related to all civilisations that inhabited the Mesopotamian region before the Muslim Conquests in the 7th century AD.
