The Holy Roman Empire (of the German nation) was an unprecedented, thought-provoking, long-lasting (800/962–1806), quasi-anarchic👑⚖, propserous ― and horribly slandered and misunderstood ― civilization. In this subreddit, we compile evidence to clarify the nature of the Holy Roman Empire, and demonstrate that it was preferable to live under the Holy Roman Empire than to live under the Roman Republic/Empire.
