Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) and Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD) are relatively new and rare neurological diseases, classified as a Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (TSE). It is the most common human form of a group of rare, fatal brain disorders known as prion diseases.
